BVM Workshop 2023

The "Image Processing for Medicine" (BVM) workshop is an annual event where German-speaking image processing experts from the medical field meet. Since 1993, the workshop has been dedicated to the various aspects of medical image processing, including algorithms, hardware and software systems, and their clinical application.

Workshop topics cover a wide range of areas, including imaging and acquisition, image segmentation and analysis, artificial intelligence and machine learning, computer-aided diagnosis, virtual/augmented reality, biomechanical modeling, and many more. The main goal of computer-aided image processing in medicine is to automatically detect structures and, in particular, to identify and quantify pathological abnormalities in order to achieve improved quality in diagnosis and treatment.

The workshop provides a platform for the presentation and discussion of new algorithms, systems and applications in medical image processing. By bringing together experts from different fields, new methods and solutions will be developed to support the visual skills of medical professionals in the assessment of medical images and ultimately maximize the benefit to the patient.

The BVM Workshop plays an important role in promoting the exchange of knowledge and experience among professionals and helps to continuously advance medical imaging. Rapid developments in device technology and increasing data complexity require constant innovation and advancements in computer vision to bring benefits to medical practice and improve patient care.
